Be Still
Psalm 46
![]() | In our daily lives, it is difficult to see God through the unknown. When we don’t see the way, we sink to fear and worry, often forgetting the power of our great God. The Psalmist points to the idea of God being our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). There is this idea of comfort and protection that is found when we run to the Lord. The word “still” points to the idea of becoming relaxed, demonstrating a peace that is found in the presence and sovereignty of God. As we know God holds all things together, why should we ever doubt His good and perfect plans? When we don’t see a way, think of how God opened up the Red Sea, doing the impossible to fulfill His perfect plan. |
Psalm 46:10
[10] “Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!” (ESV)
If you are in Christ, nothing can separate you from the love of God. As Paul says, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28). Our confidence will fall when we seek our own plans, our own ways, but when we trust in the Lord’s plans, we can be still, knowing that He is God.
